Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your data on the GTA VI Portal.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

GTA VI Portal ("we", "us", "the Portal") is a fan-made community website for GTA VI. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Portal, why we collect it, and what choices you have — including how to delete your account.

1. Who we are

The Portal is an independent, fan-run community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or any of their subsidiaries.

2. Information we collect

When you create an account and use the Portal, we may collect:

  • Account data: the email address and nickname you provide when signing up, and your password (stored securely by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see it in plain text).
  • Profile data: anything you choose to add, such as a profile photo, avatar color, and "about me" text.
  • Content you create: forum topics, comments, likes, follows, and reports you submit for moderation.
  • Notification preferences: which activity (likes, comments, replies, moderation updates) you’ve chosen to be notified about by email.
  • Technical data: basic session/authentication data needed to keep you logged in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) collected automatically by our hosting and infrastructure providers.
  • Local preferences: your selected interface language, stored in your browser’s local storage (not sent to our servers).

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and secure your account, and let you log in.
  • Show your profile, posts, and activity to other members of the community.
  • Send you optional email notifications about activity you’ve opted into.
  • Moderate content and respond to reports, to keep the Portal safe and on-topic.
  • Remember your language preference between visits.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. Your data is processed by Supabase, which provides our authentication, database, and file storage infrastructure, strictly to operate the Portal on our behalf.

Your public profile, nickname, avatar, and any content you post (topics, comments) are visible to other visitors and members of the Portal, since that is the purpose of a public community site.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use the minimum technical storage needed for the site to work: an authentication session (managed by Supabase) so you stay logged in, and a local-storage entry that remembers your chosen interface language. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account exists, so the community features (forum history, profile, achievements) work correctly. If you delete your account, your data is removed as described in the section below.

7. Deleting your account

You are always in control of your data. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Edit profile → Danger zone → Delete account.

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. It removes your profile, forum topics, comments, likes, and follows from the Portal. Once the deletion is confirmed, we do not retain a copy of this content.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most of your profile data yourself in the profile editor, export is available by simply requesting a copy from us, and account deletion is self-service as described above. For anything else, contact us using the details below.

9. Children’s privacy

The Portal is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by local law to consent to data processing (commonly 13–16, depending on your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Security

We rely on industry-standard security practices provided by our infrastructure provider, including encrypted connections and secure password hashing. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data from unauthorized access.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Portal or applicable law. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do.

12. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, you can reach out to the Portal team through the contact options listed in the FAQ section.
